It is claimed that these allow higher capacities, but they all seem to lack the Pro-HG 8-bit interface. There are MicroSD to Memory Stick Duo adapters, some of which support two MicroSD cards. The Mirroring Memory Stick PX line has since been discontinued. These seem to have been a solution Sony offered instead of a second memory card slot. Sony did release a 64 GB Memory Stick XC-HG Duo card in November 2012 which was a special PX Mirroring card for NXCAM camcorders. These support 50 MB/s reads over the 8-bit parallel interface and 15 MB/s minimum writes which is 50% higher than SD Class 10, U1, or V10 minimum write speed ratings. Sony released the current 8, 16, and 32 GB Pro-HG Duo HX cards in 2011. The 60 MHz 8-bit parallel interface Memory Stick Pro-HG format was announced in 2006. All three of my Sony cameras support SD UHS I standard though not very well. There was a question about them on another forum. Is there any point to buying a Memory Stick Duo for a Sony camera?įor whatever reason Sony continues to support their proprietary Memory Stick Duo card format in their digital cameras.
